The album “Bi Mahaba” sung by Mohammad Motamedi and by the composition of Ebrahim Tehranipour was released in the summer of 2016 by “Rahgozar Haft Iglim” company.
اThis album contains nine songs, six vocal songs and one instrumental song, among which, the songs "Bi Mahaba", "Bi Kamtarin Bahane", Savaran", "Ey Eshgh" and "Vadeye Didar" are arranged by Dr. Puya Saraei and the songs “Gisooye Yar” and ”Yar Ba Mast” are arranged by Amir Hossein Eskandari and Amir Farhang Eskandari.
In four pieces, a string orchestra and in two pieces, Oud and” kamancheh” accompany the” tanbour”
Definitely, the first outstanding feature about this work is the creation of pieces based on the repertoire of the” tanbour”.
As a matter of fact, this is a musical work based on” tanbour”, a mystical and at the same time popular music. The second feature of this work is that, for the first time, ”tanbur” is arranged with a string orchestra, a completely western section centered on the” tanbour”.
he third feature is about the” tanbour” itself. In this album, the” tanbour” is presented both as a soloist and a completely academic instrument accompanying other instruments.
In composing and arranging this album, similar to Kemanche and Oud,a separate line or part is defined and notated for the” tanbour” with multiple silences and beginnings during the piece, in contrast with previous compositions where the “ tanbour” was always played according to the vocal (Unison) throughout the whole piece.
Another noteworthy point is about the strangeness of the” tanbour”. Although today,” tanbour” owes its existence to the efforts of great masters such as Master Keikhosro Pournazari, Master Seyyed Khalil Alinejad, Master Aliakbar Moradi and many other great artists, “ tanbour” is always considered as an obsolete instrument. Perhaps this is the main reason why the” tanbour” is nowadays followed and listened to only by those who are deeply fascinated by this instrument, resulting in a less valued position among other Persian instruments.
Another important feature in this work is to show the capabilities of the” tanbour” instrument. Its ability to be placed next to western and Persian instruments with emphasis on the centrality of the” tanbour”. The different compositions in this album have appealed to a wide range of admirers of classic music and orchestral arrangements and admirers of ” tanbour” as well as those interested in Persian traditional music and Persian music arrangements.Persian
